Cloud recordings are stored for a limited time and within a fixed storage capacity. When recordings expire or storage is full, the system automatically deletes the oldest videos to make space for new ones. This article explains why this happens and what you can do to keep important recordings.
Why cloud recordings are deleted
Cloud recordings may be deleted automatically in the following situations:
- Retention period has expired: Once a recording reaches the end of your plan’s storage period, it will be deleted.
- Storage limit has been reached: If the total storage size exceeds your plan’s capacity, the system will delete the oldest recordings first to make room for new content.
This ensures that your most recent recordings are always available.
Note: Cloud storage is supported only on Wi-Fi cameras. 4G cameras do not support cloud storage.
How long cloud recordings are stored
With the Vico Nature Awareness plan, recordings can be kept for up to 60 days, with a maximum cloud capacity of 10GB.
- If the total size of your recordings remains within the storage limit, you can access them for the full retention period.
- If the storage limit is reached before the retention period ends, older recordings will be deleted—even if they are still within the retention window.
How to keep recordings for longer
To avoid losing important videos, you can:
- Download recordings – Save videos directly to your mobile device for permanent access.
- Upgrade your subscription – Extend storage time and capacity, up to 60 days and 10GB.
- Use a Micro SD card – Store recordings locally; when full, new recordings overwrite the oldest ones.
