Your camera supports two recording methods: Cloud Recording and microSD Card Recording.
Each option offers unique advantages, and understanding the differences will help you choose the one that best suits your needs.
How to View Your Recordings
Cloud Recording
- Open the App.
- Tap Library at the bottom of the screen.
- Select Cloud. (Cloud is selected by default.)
- Browse and play your recordings — available anytime, anywhere with an internet connection.
SD Card Recording
- Open the App.
- Tap Library at the bottom of the screen.
- In the top right corner, tap SD Card.
- Choose the specific camera, then tap Confirm.
- Browse and play your recordings.
Tip: You can also remove the microSD card and insert it into a card reader to play videos on computer.
What are the main differences between cloud and SD card recording?
There are several key differences between cloud and SD card recording:
Storage Location
- Cloud Recording: Videos are stored on secure remote servers (AWS), keeping them safe even if your camera is lost or stolen.
- SD Card Recording: Videos are stored locally on a microSD card inside the camera.
Network Dependency
- Cloud Recording: Requires a stable internet connection to upload videos. If connection is unstable, uploads may be delayed, but recordings can still be saved to the SD card as a backup.
- SD Card Recording: Works without internet. Recordings are stored locally even if the camera is offline.
Security & Privacy
- Cloud Recording: Videos are encrypted and stored securely in compliance with privacy regulations, ensuring your data remains protected and accessible only to you.
- SD Card Recording: If the camera and card are stolen, videos on the card can be viewed on another device without your permission.
Storage Capacity & Duration
- Cloud Recording: Storage duration and capacity depend on your selected plan. Older recordings are automatically deleted when the storage limit is reached.
- SD Card Recording: Limited by card capacity (up to 128 GB supported). When full, the oldest recordings are automatically overwritten.
Cost & Maintenance
- Cloud Recording: Extended storage requires a subscription. Storage space can be increased instantly by upgrading your plan, with no physical maintenance required.
- SD Card Recording: One-time purchase. Cards may need replacement over time due to wear, damage, or the need for higher capacity.
Simultaneous Recording
When connected to Wi-Fi, your camera can record to both the cloud and SD card at the same time, ensuring you always have a secure backup.
