If your camera saves videos to the cloud but not to the SD card, try the steps below. These instructions cover the most common causes of the issue and how to resolve them.
1. Check Your SD Card Requirements
Using an SD card that meets the specifications below ensures stable and reliable recording:
- Brand: Use only genuine brand-name cards (SanDisk, Samsung, Kingston, etc.)
- Capacity: Up to 128 GB
- Format: FAT32 (required for compatibility)
- Condition: Avoid counterfeit, expanded-capacity, or read-only cards
Tip: Even if your SD card is new, format it in the camera before first use to ensure compatibility.
2. Perform Basic Troubleshooting
- Power off the camera.
- Remove the SD card and reinsert it firmly into the slot.
- Restart the camera after reinserting the card.
- Format the SD card in the app:
- Go to Camera Setting > SD Card Management > Format
- Try a different SD card that meets the above requirements to rule out card defects.
3. Verify SD Card Is Recognized by the Camera
- Insert the SD card into the camera and ensure it is firmly seated.
- In the app, go to Camera Setting > SD Card Management to check the card status.
- If the card is recognized, the camera will automatically start saving videos to it. No manual recording setting is required.
Tip: If the SD card is not detected, try reinserting it or formatting it in the app.
4. View Videos Stored on the SD Card
- Open the app and go to Library.
- Tap SD Card at the top right.
- Select your camera and tap Confirm.
- Choose a video to watch.
Note: SD card videos can only be viewed when the card is inserted into the camera.
5. Understand That Initial Capacity Changes May Be Minimal
When you first start using the SD card, recorded videos may be few, especially if there is little motion detected in the camera’s view. In this case, the SD card’s capacity reading might not change noticeably at the beginning.
This is normal and does not indicate a fault. The card is still working as intended.
We recommend monitoring it over the next few days. Once more videos are recorded, the capacity reading should start to change accordingly.
6. Additional Notes
- SD card recording functions as a backup to cloud recording. When cloud recording is enabled, videos are also saved to the SD card.
- If the SD card shows used space but no videos in the app, connect it to a computer to check for corrupted files.
- When the SD card is full, the oldest recordings are automatically overwritten.
- Keep your camera firmware up to date for the best SD card compatibility.
