If you’re unable to access or view the SD card video list on your camera, follow the steps below in order. Each step is designed to rule out potential causes, starting with the simplest checks.
Before You Begin
- Make sure your camera is powered on and connected to a stable network.
- Ensure the camera is online in the app (check the live stream).
- Confirm you are signed in with the correct account linked to the camera.
Step 1: Verify Your Access Path
- Open the app and go to Library.
- Tap SD Card in the upper-right corner.
- Select the camera you want to view, then tap Confirm.
If the video list still doesn’t appear, move on to the next step.
Step 2: Initialize Live Streaming First
- Start a live view from the camera and select the highest available resolution.
- Once the live view is visible, return to Library → SD Card.
This refreshes the connection and often resolves loading issues.
Step 3: Check the Calendar View for Recordings
- Look for green dots above dates in the calendar. These indicate available recordings.
- Tap a date with a green dot to view videos for that day.
- If storage space is shown as used but no videos appear, the issue may be with how the list is displayed rather than the recordings themselves.
- If no videos are visible in the app, remove the SD card and connect it to a computer to check whether the videos are saved there.
Step 4: Hardware Troubleshooting
- Power off the camera.
- Remove the SD card, then reinsert it securely.
- Restart the camera.
- Format the SD card in the app: Settings → SD Card Management → Format SD Card.
- Important: Formatting will erase all recordings on the card. Back up any data you wish to keep before formatting.
- If possible, test with a different SD card to check if the problem is card-specific.
Step 5: Update Your Camera Software
- Go to Camera Settings → Camera Info → Firmware Update.
- If you see “Firmware is already up to date,” proceed to the next step.
- If an update is available, install it and test the SD card video list again.
Step 6: Check SD Card Compatibility
Make sure your card meets the following requirements:
- Capacity: 8GB to 128GB
- Format: FAT32
- Speed: Class 10 or more
- Brand: Use genuine cards from reputable manufacturers such as SanDisk, Samsung, or Kingston.
- Avoid no-brand, counterfeit, expanded-capacity, or read-only cards.
