Connection Methods
Before proceeding, note that there are two ways to add your camera to the app:
- Bluetooth Connection (Recommended): Automatically detects the camera and transfers Wi-Fi credentials via Bluetooth.
- QR Code Connection (Backup): Use this if Bluetooth fails or your phone doesn't support Bluetooth.
This article focuses on the QR code setup method.
Step-by-Step Instructions
1. Choose a Light Socket
- Use a standard E27 or E26 socket (110V–240V)
- Avoid dimmer-controlled sockets, as they may interfere with power supply
- Choose a location near your 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi router for better signal
Note: Check the user manual for model-specific voltage or socket requirements
2. Power on the Camera
- Turn off power to the socket before installation
- Screw the light bulb camera into the socket securely
- Turn the socket back on—the camera will automatically turn on
3. Enter Pairing Mode
3.1 First-Time Pairing
When powered on for the first time, the light bulb camera automatically enters pairing mode.
- You’ll see a flashing blue light.
- You’ll hear “Ding Dong Ding Dong”, indicating it’s ready to be added in the app.
3.2 Re-Pairing (Previously Connected Device)
If the light bulb camera has been paired before and you're reconnecting it again, it won’t enter pairing mode automatically.
To manually enter pairing mode:
- Press and hold the Reset button (located near the MicroSD card slot) for 5–7 seconds.
- Release when you hear the “Ding Dong Ding Dong” sound.
- The blue light will start flashing, confirming it’s ready to connect.
4. Connect via QR Code in the App
- Open the app.
- If this is your first time adding a device, tap “Add Camera Now” on the home screen.
- If you’ve added devices before, tap the “+” icon in the upper-right corner and choose “Add a new device.”
- On the “Turn on the device” screen, make sure the camera is powered on and in pairing mode.
Once you hear the startup sound — a repeated “Ding Dong Ding Dong” — tap “I heard the sound”, then tap “Next Step.” - On the “Choose your device” screen, if your camera is not listed, tap “Other connection methods.”
- On the “Choose a device connection method” screen:
- Select “Connect via Wi-Fi”, then tap “Continue”
- On the “Select Wi-Fi for the device” screen:
- Enter your 2.4GHz/5GHz Wi-Fi name and password
- Tap “Next Step”
- A confirmation pop-up will appear:
- Tap “Confirm” if the Wi-Fi info is correct
- You’ll see a QR code on screen. Hold your phone 15–25 cm in front of the camera lens.
- When scanned successfully, you’ll hear a “beep”. The app will display “Connecting...” as it finalizes the setup.
5. Final Configuration
- After the QR code is successfully scanned, it will automatically jump to “Set a name and location for the device”
- Enter a name and choose a location, then tap “Next Step”
You’ll see “Device added successfully”, then:
- If you need to add more cameras, tap “Add another device” to repeat the setup process.
- If you tap “Let’s start” to go through the installation guide. On the next screen, the app will check signal quality:
- If signal is good, tap “Next Step”
- Follow each step of the on-screen installation guidance
- Tap “Finish” to complete setup
You’ll then return to the Home screen, and the device is ready to use.
