What should I do if my SD card doesn't format in the Vico Nature app?
If your SD card formatting fails in the Vico Nature app, follow these troubleshooting steps.
Important Warning: Formatting the SD card will permanently erase ALL recordings on the SD card and cannot be recovered. Make sure to download any important videos before formatting.
Step 1: Verify SD Card Requirements
- The camera supports most branded SD cards (e.g., SanDisk), but may not support no-brand or counterfeit cards.
- Ensure capacity is 8GB to 128GB.
- Avoid no-brand, fake, expanded, or read-only SD cards.
Step 2: Try App Formatting First
- Open the Vico Nature app.
- Tap the "Camera Settings" icon.
- Go to "SD Card Management."
- Tap "Format SD Card."
Step 3: Use Computer Formatting (If App Fails)
If the app formatting fails, format the SD card to FAT32 using your computer first, then format it again in the Vico Nature app:
- Windows: Use the built-in Windows formatting tool or third-party software to format to FAT32.
- Mac: Use Disk Utility to format to FAT32.
Step 4: Physical Installation Check
- Turn off the camera before inserting the SD card.
- Insert the SD card following the directional icon near the slot.
- Ensure the card clicks securely into place.
- Turn the camera back on.
Step 5: Check the App Version
- Open the Google Play Store or App Store app.
- In the search bar, type in the name of the app.
- If an update is available, tap the "Update" button to start the update process.
- Once the update is installed, open the app to see if the issue is resolved.
What if formatting gets stuck at 99.9% completion?
This usually means the formatting process didn't complete correctly. Use a computer with FAT32 formatting software to fully format the card, then try formatting it again in the Vico Nature app.
