You can share your device with another user by generating an admin QR code. This guide explains what it is, how to find it, and important details to know.
About the Device Administrator
The device administrator is the person who originally added the device to the app. Administrators manage the device and can decide whether to share access with other users.
What Is the Admin QR Code?
The admin QR code allows the administrator to share limited access to the device. A shared user can:
- View the live stream
- Receive motion notifications
- Access motion recordings
Shared users cannot change device settings or remove the device.
How to Find the Admin QR Code
The administrator can generate the admin QR code by following these steps:
- Open the app and go to the Home page.
- Tap the Share icon.
- Select Device Sharing.
- The admin QR code will appear on screen.
Important Notes
- The admin QR code is valid for 30 minutes. If it expires, please ask the administrator to generate a new one.
- The administrator and the shared user must be registered in the same country/region.
- Only scan the QR code displayed in the app. Scanning other QR codes (such as those printed on the device) will result in an "Invalid QR code" message.
- For security, do not share the admin QR code with untrusted parties.
