When you pair your bird feeder with the app, you’ll enjoy an enriched experience with Bird Collection—a dedicated space designed to help you explore and celebrate the birds that visit your feeder.
Below, you’ll learn what you can expect and how to make the most of this feature.
Where to Find Bird Collection
Once your bird feeder is connected, the Birds tab appears between Home and Library. Each time you open the app, you can view the Birds page at any time, so you can see the latest sightings right away.
If your feeders are not subscribed to the Awareness plan, you’ll see a subscription prompt on this page.
Discover Your Bird Visitors
In Bird Collection, you’ll find a gallery of photos captured by your feeder’s camera. These snapshots are arranged chronologically, with the most recent visits displayed first.
Each photo includes helpful details:
- Species Name
- Visit Time
- Visit Count
When the system identifies a new bird species, you’ll receive a push notification on your device. A New badge will also appear next to the latest discovery.
View and Filter Bird Recordings
From the Bird Collection page, you can tap any species to instantly filter and review video highlights that feature only that particular bird.
When you play a video clip, you’ll see:
- The bird’s name and profile image, shown above the player
- A share button you can use to post the clip to your social media accounts
At the bottom of the playback screen, you’ll also find recognition details, including the likelihood percentages for each identified species.
Refine Bird Identification
If you’d like to confirm which bird you’ve spotted, tap the species name shown under the video. This will open the Possible Species view.
- If none of the listed options match your bird, tap Mark as misrecognized.
- If you find a match, tap the arrow (>) next to the correct name to see an introduction to the species. For additional learning, you can select View more information at the bottom of the species page. This opens an external reference page on a trusted wiki site.
