Practice Mode Introduction

This article applies to all users with an active Awareness Protection Plan.

What is Practice Mode?

Practice Mode is a testing environment that simulates real emergency situations without alerting emergency responders. During this period, you can:

• Test your security system's functionality
• Practice using emergency features
• Verify alarm triggers and notifications
• Ensure proper system operation

Important: Practice Mode duration is calculated separately for each Home in your account.

How to Start Practice Mode

1. Open your app and navigate to My Service
2. Select Awareness Protection Plan
3. Locate Practice Mode in the settings
4. Tap Start to begin your 7-day practice period

Once activated, you'll see "Practice Mode" displayed prominently on relevant screens, along with reminders that no emergency responders will be dispatched.

How to Stop Practice Mode

You can end Practice Mode at any time before the 7-day period expires:

1. Navigate to Practice Mode in your My Service settings
2. Tap Stop
3. In the confirmation dialog:
   • Tap Stop Practice Mode to confirm and exit Practice Mode
   • Tap Cancel to return to the previous screen without changes

What to Expect During Practice Mode

Visual Indicators

• "Practice Mode" appears in the center of relevant screens
• Clear notifications remind you that the system is in Practice Mode

System Behavior

• All features function normally except emergency dispatch
• You'll receive standard disclaimers reminding you of Practice Mode status: "*Please note, you are currently in practice mode. No emergency responders will be dispatched."
• Monitoring center may contact you to verify alarms, but no emergency services will be sent

Emergency Response Options

During Practice Mode, you can still test different response types:

• Police Response
• Fire Response
• Medical Response

Each option functions identically to normal operation, minus actual emergency dispatch.

Important Considerations

• Duration: Practice Mode lasts up to 7 days from activation
• Per-Home Basis: Each Home location has its own separate Practice Mode timer
• No Emergency Dispatch: Emergency responders will not be sent to your location during Practice Mode
• Monitoring Contact: The monitoring center may still contact you to verify test alarms
• Manual Termination: You can end Practice Mode early at any time
