Important: Smart Push is available only with an active Awareness subscription. Without an active plan, Smart Push and AI-based event recognition will be disabled, and you’ll receive only standard motion alerts.
Why Smart Push Notifications May Be Delayed
Smart Push uses cloud-based AI to identify what your camera sees — detecting people, pets, vehicles, birds, or packages before sending a notification. This intelligent review ensures accuracy, but it also means your alert isn’t sent until the AI confirms what the event is.
As a result, a short delay (typically 3–6 seconds) between motion detection and the notification appearing on your phone is completely normal.
When motion is detected:
- The camera records a short video clip.
- The clip uploads to the cloud.
- AI analyzes what triggered the motion.
- Once identified, a "Smart Push" notification (for example, “Person Detected”) is delivered to your phone.
If any of these steps slow down, such as network upload or AI processing, the notification may take longer to arrive.
Common Reasons for Delays
1. AI Cloud Processing
"Smart Push" relies on cloud servers for AI recognition.
When system traffic is high, analysis and push delivery can take longer.
This delay is temporary and resolves automatically when server load decreases.
2. Weak Wi-Fi or Slow Upload Speed
Smart Push analysis starts only after the video clip uploads to the cloud.
If your camera’s Wi-Fi connection is weak, uploads will take longer.
- Keep the camera close to your Wi-Fi router.
- Restart your router periodically for optimal performance.
- Avoid barriers like thick walls or metal objects between the camera and router.
3. Poor Mobile Network
Notifications may be delayed if your phone’s network connection is weak or unstable, even when the camera is working normally. Try the following steps to improve network performance on your phone:
- Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data to check if the delay improves
- Toggle Airplane Mode on/off to refresh the phone’s network connection
- Restart your phone to restore a stable network state
A stronger and more stable mobile network can help notifications arrive on time.
4.Mobile Notification Handling
Your phone may delay notifications if the app’s background activity is restricted.
Check your notification and battery settings:
- iOS: Settings → Notifications → Vico Nature → Allow Notifications
- Android: Settings → Apps → Vico Nature → Notifications → Allow Also disable Battery Saver or App Sleep for Vico Nature.
5. Outdated App or Firmware
Older versions may process or deliver alerts less efficiently. Update both your app and camera firmware.
Expected Performance
A brief delay of a few seconds is part of the AI recognition process. It ensures your alerts are accurate, meaningful, and filtered, not just constant motion pings. If delays exceed 15–20 seconds, or notifications appear inconsistent, continue below.
How to Improve Smart Push Speed
- Verify your Awareness subscription is active.
- Maintain a strong and stable Wi-Fi connection.
- Keep your Vico Nature app and firmware up to date.
- Disable battery optimization or background restrictions for the app.
- Restart your camera and router periodically.
If Delays Continue
If your notifications are still significantly delayed:
- Remove and re-add the camera in the app.
- Test the camera on another Wi-Fi network.
A few seconds of delay in Smart Push is normal, it reflects the precision of Vico Nature’s AI detection system. Maintaining a strong network, an active subscription, and the latest software ensures your alerts remain fast, accurate, and reliable.
