The Distance Between the Doorbell and Indoor Chime Is Too Far
If the doorbell and indoor chime are too far apart, or if there are thick walls or metal doors between them, the signal might not reach the chime properly.
Try this test:
- Take the doorbell off its mount and place it close to the indoor chime.

- If the indoor chime rings or the light turns blue, the distance or obstruction is the issue.
- To fix it, reduce the distance between the two devices or move your router to improve the signal.
The Doorbell and Indoor Chime Are Not Paired Correctly
If the chime doesn’t ring or light up, the devices might have lost their pairing connection. You can manually re-pair them by following these steps:
- Press and hold the Music button on the indoor chime for 8–10 seconds to clear all existing pairing information.
- Press and hold the Music button again for about 5 seconds until the indicator light flashes blue, then release the button.

Place the indoor chime close to the doorbell, then press and hold the doorbell button until you hear two “ding-dong” tones.
- The indoor chime will also make a sound to confirm that pairing is successful.
Once paired, press the doorbell again to ensure it rings properly.
The Indoor Chime Volume Is Too Low or Muted
If you see the chime’s light turn blue but don’t hear any sound, the volume may be turned down.
How to check:
- Press the volume button on the indoor chime to increase the sound level.
- Then press the doorbell again to test.
Possible Device Malfunction
If you’ve confirmed the distance, pairing, and volume are all correct but the chime still doesn’t respond, there may be a hardware issue.
Try this:
- Unplug the indoor chime, wait 10 seconds, then plug it back in.
