How do I update my camera's WiFi network?
Method 1: Using the Camera Power Button
- Turn on the camera and double-click its power button to enter QR code scanning mode
- You will see a flashing blue light and hear a continuous "Ding dong ding dong" sound
- Open the Vico Nature app and follow the "Add a new camera" steps to add the camera to the new network
- If the system finds a camera bound under the same Vico Nature account, all settings will be kept the same
Method 2: Using App Settings
- Open the Vico Nature app
- Tap "Camera Setting" → tap ">" extension icon → tap WiFi name (SSID) → tap "Change WiFi"
- Follow the prompts to connect to your new network
What should I do if my camera won't connect to the new WiFi?
Check WiFi Compatibility
- Ensure your WiFi network is 2.4GHz (cameras don't support 5GHz networks)
- Verify you're using the correct WiFi password
- Ensure your WiFi uses a compatible encryption mode, such as WPA2. Some cameras may not work with unsupported or advanced encryption settings.
Troubleshooting Steps
- Place your phone and camera as close to the router as possible
- Restart your WiFi router
- Use the pin to poke the camera's reboot hole until you see a blue light and hear the startup sound
- Double-click the power button to hear the "Ding Dong" sound
- Try connecting using a mobile phone hotspot (enable 'Maximise Compatibility' on iOS devices)
