If you are unable to hear sound in your camera's live view or video recordings, follow the steps below to troubleshoot and resolve the issue.
Step 1: Check App Audio Settings
- Open the Vico Nature app.
- Go to Camera Settings > Audio Settings.
- Ensure Live/Video Audio Recording is turned ON.
- During Live View, make sure the Speaker icon under the video window is enabled.
Step 2: Check Phone and System Audio Settings
- Confirm your phone's volume is turned up and not muted.
- Make sure notification sounds are enabled.
- Verify the app has microphone access:
- On iOS: Settings > Privacy > Microphone > Vico Nature
- On Android: Settings > Apps > Vico Nature > Permissions > Microphone
- Ensure Do Not Disturb is not active.
- Check that any external audio devices (Bluetooth speakers, headphones) are not interfering with playback.
Step 3: Inspect for Physical Obstructions
- Ensure the camera's microphone is not blocked by tape, stickers, dust, or debris.
- Remove any protective films covering the microphone area.
- Check for visible damage or foreign objects near the audio components.
Step 4: Restart the Camera
- For plug-in models: Unplug the camera, wait for 10 seconds, then plug it back in. Press and hold the Reset button for 5 seconds.
- For light bulb cameras: Power off the camera, then locate the Reset button inside the microSD card slot. Press and hold it for 5 seconds to reset the device.
- For other models: Use the provided pin to press the P button/P hole for 1-3 seconds, until you hear a starup sound
Step 5: Ensure a Stable Network Connection
- Both your camera and phone should be connected to a strong and stable internet connection.
- Poor Wi-Fi signal can lead to delayed or missing audio.
- Try the following:
- Move your phone and camera closer to the router.
- Consider using a Wi-Fi extender.
Step 6: Advanced Troubleshooting
If the issue persists:
- Fully close and reopen the app.
- Clear app cache (Android):
- Settings > Apps > Vico Nature > Storage > Clear Cache
- Update the app to the latest version.
- Test two-way audio in Live View to verify microphone and speaker functionality.
- Use the app's Send Feedback feature to upload sample videos for further analysis.
