Check if Your Camera Supports Pan and Tilt
Not all Vico Nature cameras include pan and tilt functionality. To check:
- Open the Vico Nature app.
- On the homepage, tap the Live View icon (▷) to enter the live stream.
- If your camera supports pan and tilt, you’ll see directional arrow icons on the live view screen.
- If no arrows appear, your device does not support this feature.
Tip: Pan and tilt availability depends on the specific camera model. Please refer to your product’s specifications or packaging for details.
How to Manually Control Pan and Tilt
If directional arrows are visible on the live view screen, follow these steps to control your camera's position:
- Open the Vico Nature app and access Live View.
- Locate the directional arrow icons on the screen.
- Tap the arrows to adjust the camera’s view:
- ⬆️ Tilt Up — move the lens upward
- ⬇️ Tilt Down — move the lens downward
- ⬅️ Pan Left — rotate the camera left
- ➡️ Pan Right — rotate the camera right
The camera will respond almost instantly to your taps, allowing you to fine-tune the view in real time.
You can use this feature to monitor large areas such as driveways, backyards, or front porches without physically repositioning the camera.
Helpful Tips for Better Control
- Tap gently and with pause: Tapping too quickly may cause multiple movements to queue. Wait briefly between taps for more precise control.
- Maintain strong connectivity: A stable Wi-Fi signal near the camera ensures smoother responsiveness during pan and tilt.
-
Understand limitations: Some cameras may have a limited range of motion or maximum rotation speed.
-
Auto Tracking: Not all camera models support this feature. Auto tracking allows the camera to automatically follow moving objects.
What to Do if the Camera Fails to Rotate
If your camera does not respond to pan/tilt commands:
-
Check Live View: Ensure the video feed is working. Stand in front of the camera or move around to confirm the image is updating.
-
Verify network stability: Restart your router if needed and try setting the stream resolution to SD for smoother control.
-
Update software: Confirm that both the camera firmware and app are updated to the latest versions.
-
Reboot the camera: Restart the device and check if it rotates during the reboot.
