Currently, the Vicohome App does not support changing the notification sound directly due to restrictions from phone operating systems (both iOS and Android). We understand that customization matters to many users and apologize for this limitation. We're actively exploring options to offer more flexibility in future updates.
Is there an alternative way to change the notification sound for the app?
While you can't change the sound directly within the app, you may be able to change your phone’s default notification sound, which will also affect Vicohome alerts.
- Android: Go to Phone Settings > Sound & Vibration > Notification Sound and select your preferred tone.
- iOS: iOS currently does not allow third-party apps to customize notification sounds individually. Vicohome notifications will use the system default sound.
How to disable notifications?
You can manage notifications differently depending on whether you have an Awareness Plan subscription.
If You Do Not Have a Subscription:
- Go to: Camera Settings > Notification Settings
- Turn off Motion Detection Notification
- This will disable all motion alerts from the app.
If You Have a Subscription:
- Go to: Camera Settings > Notification Settings
- You can choose to disable specific types of notifications, such as:
- Merge Push
- AI Classification Alerts
- You can also set up Activity Zones to receive alerts only from selected areas.
Use Do Not Disturb to Temporarily Silence Alerts
You can temporarily pause notifications without disabling motion detection entirely.
In the App:
- On the Home page, tap the bell icon (top right).
- Choose a time duration:
- 30 minutes
- 2 hours
- 12 hours
- During this time, you won’t receive motion alerts, but all events will still be recorded.
On Your Phone:
- iPhone: Use Focus Mode or Do Not Disturb to mute notifications.
- Android: Use Do Not Disturb or set notification channels to silent in system settings.
