If your camera isn’t charging, follow the steps below to identify possible causes and resolve the issue.
Verify the charger
The camera only supports chargers with a 5V output. Fast-charging adapters or computer USB ports may not work reliably.
- Try using the charger with another device. If that device also doesn’t charge, replace the charger.
Check the charging cable
A faulty cable may prevent charging.
- Test the cable with another device. If it fails, use a different cable.
Ensure a proper connection
Make sure the charging ports on both the adapter and the camera are clean and free of dust or debris.
- Reconnect the cable firmly to ensure a stable connection.
Avoid overly long cables
Charging cables longer than 16 ft (5 m) can cause unstable charging.
- Use a shorter, compatible cable.
Confirm the charging environment
Charging may not work if the surrounding temperature is too high or too low.
- Place the camera in an environment between 0°C and 45°C (32°F and 113°F) and try again.
Allow extra time for inactive batteries
If the camera hasn’t been charged for an extended period, the battery may need additional time to recover.
- Leave the camera connected to power for at least 30 minutes before checking again.
