How to Remove and Edit Misrecognized Bird Information

If a bird was misrecognized by Bird AI, you can remove the incorrect record from your Birds collection. This helps keep your collection accurate and supports ongoing improvements to recognition.

Prerequisites

• All users have permission to remove misrecognized birds from the Birds tab.

• Only admin users have permission to mark records from the playback as misidentified.

App Version Requirements:

• Android: Version 2.50.2 or later
• iOS: Version 3.50.2 or later

If needed, update the app to the latest version before proceeding.

Remove Misrecognized Birds (Available Now)

You can remove misrecognized birds using either of these methods:

Method 1: Remove from Birds Page

1. Open the app and go to the Birds page.
2. Locate the photo you want to remove.
3. Tap the More Options icon (three dots) in the bottom right corner of the photo.
4. Select Mark cover photo as misidentified.

Method 2: Remove from Playback Page

1. Navigate to the playback details page of the video containing the misrecognized bird.
2. Select Mark as misrecognized.

What Happens After Removal

After marking a bird as misrecognized using either method:

• The incorrect bird entry will be removed from the Birds tab page.
• If there are other videos under the same bird type, the app will automatically select a new cover photo.
• If no other videos are available, the bird type will be hidden from your list.

Edit Misrecognized Bird Information (Under Development)

The option to edit or change a bird identification directly is currently under development. This feature will allow you to correct misrecognized birds without removing them entirely, and will be included in a future update.
