If a bird was misrecognized by Bird AI, you can remove the incorrect record from your "Birds" collection. This helps keep your collection accurate and supports ongoing improvements to recognition.
Remove Misrecognized Birds
You can remove misrecognized birds using either of these methods:
Method 1: Remove from Birds Page
- Open the app and go to the "Birds" page.
- Locate the photo you want to remove.
- Tap the More Options icon (three dots) in the bottom right corner of the photo.
- Select "Mark cover photo as misidentified".
Method 2: Remove from Playback Page
- Navigate to the playback details page of the video containing the misrecognized bird.
- Select "Mark as misrecognized".
What Happens After Removal
After marking a bird as misrecognized using either method:
- The incorrect bird entry will be removed from the Birds tab page.
- If there are other videos under the same bird type, the app will automatically select a new cover photo.
- If no other videos are available, the bird type will be hidden from your list.
Important: This action does not delete any playback videos. The video remains available in your Library and is simply relabeled as "A bird detected".
Edit Misrecognized Bird Information
If the bird species has been identified incorrectly, you can manually correct it by following these steps:
- Open the app and go to the "Birds" page.
- Find the bird entry you want to correct, then tap the More Options icon (three dots) in the top-right corner.
- Select "Go to cover photo video".
- Tap the identified species name displayed below the video.
- On the "Possible Species" page, tap "Edit Species".
- Enter the correct bird species name, or select an option such as "Unknown bird" or "Not a bird".
- Tap "Submit" to save your changes.
Correcting misidentified bird information also helps improve the accuracy of future recognition.
