How to Transfer Administrator Rights to Another User
To transfer administrator rights from one account to another, you need to follow a two-step process:
Step 1: Remove the Camera from Current Admin Account
- The current administrator opens the VicoHome app
- Go to "Camera Settings" for the device you want to transfer
- Scroll to the bottom and look for "Remove Camera" option
- Confirm the removal process
Step 2: Connect Camera to New Admin Account
- The new administrator logs into their VicoHome account (or creates a new one)
- Follow the "Add a new camera" process in the app
- Go through the normal device setup procedure
- Once successfully added, the camera is now linked to the new admin account
Important Notes:
- Only ONE administrator is allowed per camera. You can not have multiple main administrators
- If the system finds a camera previously bound under the same VicoHome account, all camera settings will be preserved
- Shared users have limited permissions while only the administrator can manage all camera settings, delete recordings, and modify configurations
- The current administrator must actively remove the camera first before the new administrator can add it
What's the difference between an administrator and a shared user?
The administrator has full control over the camera including:
- Managing all camera settings (motion detection, notifications, audio/light settings)
- Deleting cloud recordings and managing storage
- Adding or removing shared users
- Making configuration changes
Shared users can only:
- Watch live video
- View recorded videos in the Library, both cloud and SD card
- Receive motion detection notifications
Shared users cannot modify settings, delete recordings, or manage other users.
