To make sure your VicoHome camera stays powered and continues working reliably, it's important to check its battery level and charging status. You can easily do this through the VicoHome app.
How to Check the Battery Level
- Open the VicoHome app.
- Tap the Settings icon for the camera you want to check.
- On the Camera Settings page, the battery icon and battery percentage will appear at the top, next to the camera name.
- For a more detailed battery percentage, tap the top section to enter Camera Info, where you can view the exact battery level (e.g., 76%).
- The battery status updates in real time to reflect your camera’s current charge.
Tip: You don’t need to scroll down—battery information is shown at the top of the Settings page. Just tap the section for more details.
Low Battery Alerts
You’ll automatically receive a low battery notification when the battery drops below 10%.
- This helps prevent unexpected shutdowns so your camera can keep working as expected.
- Make sure notifications are enabled in your phone's system settings to receive alerts.
How to Check Charging Status
You can check whether your camera is charging in two ways: through the VicoHome app and by observing the camera’s status indicator light.
In the VicoHome App
When your camera is actively charging, whether via a wall charger or solar panel, you’ll see a green lightning icon next to the battery level in the app.
- If the battery is not charging, the charging icon will be black.
- Once the battery is fully charged, the battery will show 100%.
On the Camera Device
Your camera’s indicator light can also help confirm charging status:
- Amber / Orange / Yellow Light: The camera is currently charging.
- Green Light: The battery is fully charged.
Applicable Models
This guide applies to VicoHome cameras with built-in rechargeable batteries, including:
- Outdoor cameras
- 4G cameras
- Doorbell cameras
- Bird feeder cameras
Plug-in models like indoor cameras and light bulb cameras don’t display battery status in the app, as they require continuous power and do not need charging.
