VicoHome cameras support three power sources. You can choose the one that fits your setup in Power Settings within the app.
Power Source Options
Battery Power Only
For battery-powered cameras, including:
- 4G cameras
- Bird feeder cameras
- Doorbell cameras
- PTZ outdoor cameras
Not supported on plug-in (wired) cameras.
Plug-in Power
Compatible with all VicoHome cameras.
Best suited for:
- Wired cameras
- Indoor cameras
- Light bulb cameras
Solar Panel
Recommended for outdoor battery-powered cameras placed in areas with consistent direct sunlight.
Ensure the battery is fully charged before connecting the solar panel.
How to Configure Power Settings
- Open the VicoHome app.
- Tap the Camera Setting (gear icon) in the top-right corner.
- Scroll down and tap Power Settings.
- Tap Power Source, then choose one of the following:
- Solar panel
- Plug in
- Battery power only
- Below the selection, toggle on Auto-On After Charging if needed.
Auto-On After Charging
When enabled, this feature allows the camera to power on automatically after it regains sufficient battery—only if it was previously shut down due to low battery.
Note:
If the camera was turned off manually, it must be turned on manually as well.
