If your camera shows a battery level of 1%, fluctuates between values, or appears stuck, this may be caused by calibration issues, environmental factors, or incomplete charging.
Which Devices Show Battery Level?
Only battery-powered cameras display a battery percentage icon, including:
- 4G cameras
- Bird feeder cameras
- Doorbell cameras
- Outdoor Wi-Fi cameras
Indoor cameras and light bulb cameras do not display battery icons, as they are designed to be plugged in continuously and have no internal battery.
Common Symptoms
- Battery percentage stuck at values like 1% or 61%
- Shows 100% but drains quickly
- Percentage jumps (e.g., 90% → 30%)
How to Fix It
Reboot While Charging
- Connect the camera to a 5V/1.5A charger
- Use a pin to press and hold the reboot button (P-hole)
- Keep the camera connected during the reboot
Complete a Full Charge Cycle
- Fully discharge the battery
- Charge continuously for at least 10 hours
- Even if the indicator shows 100%, continue charging a few more hours
Update Firmware
- Ensure battery is above 60%
- Check and install updates in the app

- Fully charge the camera with a power adapter before using a solar panel
- Solar panels maintain, but don’t recharge from low battery
