- Install the camera in a sheltered spot, like under an awning or eave, to reduce direct exposure to cold, sun, or wind.
- Charge the camera indoors when temperatures are too low or high for safe outdoor charging.
- Keep solar panels clean and unobstructed to maintain efficiency during low-sunlight periods.
- Avoid prolonged exposure to temperatures below −10 °C or above 45 °C. If needed, temporarily remove the device.
- Check battery levels more frequently during winter or peak summer months.
How to Tell If Temperature Is the Cause

- Bring the camera indoors and let it sit at room temperature for 30–60 minutes.
- Charge the device while indoors.
- If the battery level returns to normal or charging resumes, the issue was likely temperature-related.
