The location of the power button varies depending on the type of your camera. Below you’ll find guidance for each device type.
Plug-in Cameras (Including Light Bulb Cameras)
Plug-in cameras do not have a physical power button or an on/off switch. They automatically power on when connected to electricity and turn off when unplugged.
For the light bulb camera, the behavior is the same, the camera turns on once you screw it into the light socket and power is supplied. When power is cut off, the camera shuts down automatically.
Battery-Powered Cameras
For battery-operated cameras, the power button is located on the camera body, but its appearance and placement may differ slightly between models.
To access it, you typically need to remove the small rubber plug on the camera. Once the plug is lifted, you’ll see the power button beneath it.
Tip: Make sure the rubber cover is properly sealed again after powering on or off, to maintain the device’s water resistance.
Outdoor Bird Feeder Cameras
The power button for outdoor bird feeder cameras is also on the camera body itself, not on the outer feeder housing. When looking for the button, gently check the camera module section, that’s where you’ll find it, often protected by a small silicone plug just like other battery cameras.
Doorbell Cameras
To access the power button on doorbell cameras, follow these steps:
- Remove the top cover of the doorbell first. Insert the detaching pin into the small hole on the top of the doorbell.
- Press gently, then lift and remove the top cover.
- The power button is usually located on the side of the doorbell body.
Be sure to handle the cover carefully to avoid scratching or damaging the device surface.
All cameras share the same principle: plug-in cameras turn on with power, while battery and other cameras have their buttons on the camera body.
