Whether your camera can record continuously depends on its power source.
- Battery-powered cameras: Motion-triggered only, continuous recording is not supported.
- Plug-in cameras with a microSD card: Continuous recording supported.
Battery-Powered Cameras
Battery-powered cameras are designed to maximize battery life. They record only when motion is detected, even if a microSD card is installed.
- Maximum clip length: Up to 3 minutes when recording duration is set to Up to 3 min.
- Why continuous recording isn’t available: It would quickly drain the battery, reducing overall performance and requiring frequent charging.
Plug-in Cameras
Plug-in cameras can record continuously because they are always powered.
- Without microSD card: Records videos of a fixed duration to the cloud (available in the app’s Library).
- With microSD card: Supports Continuous Recording, saving footage directly to the card.
How to Enable Continuous Recording (Plug-in cameras only)
- Open the app and tap the device’s “Settings” icon
on the home screen.
- In the Camera Settings page, tap “Motion Detection”.
- Select “Recording Setting”.
- Under “SD Card Recording Mode”, choose “Continuous record”.
Important Notes
- Continuous Recording has no duration limit.
- When the SD card is full, the oldest footage is automatically overwritten.
- Use a compatible microSD card (FAT32, 8–128 GB recommended).
- Feature availability may vary depending on your device model and firmware version.
